A commentator posted this on the YouTube video channel Simply Always Awake: “For so long I have tried to be aware of Awareness, to be the witness, observe the Stillness, etc. It has been very important but more and more I am just letting all arisings be as they are; simply noticing and feeling; not even worrying about being aware of Awareness. This allows everything constantly, feels very natural, clear and deep; empowering, but not empowering to the ego. A pure and simple and true power, a divine flow.” (Commentator Silver Handle)
How true! The awareness of Awareness is a method just as meditation is. It has its usefulness to see the impostor thought, declaring itself as “self,” at work. Maybe it even introduces us to “the Space,” the uncanny ability to see the mind at work while not to be slave to its conditioned automatism. Eventually though, S (tillness) E (nergy) L (ove) F (low) speaks for life as is and we are That. Different from Nisargadatta Maharaj who took the power of “I Am” for some sort of a divine stamp of approval, I would argue that we can all lose touch from time to time and be once again led by self-identification. It’s alright. With the help of mindfulness and many willing friends to remind us of our self-illusion, we can again reconnect with the power of S-E-L-F as we awaken to our self-identification.
In short, feel, sense, be!
