On Being Vulnerable

Can you expose your vulnerability to other people?  Can you tell them your needs and allow them help you? Observe yourself and find out what has stopped you from opening up to others in the past? Why can't you tell your colleagues, friends and family your concerns, doubts and needs?  Do you feel that in doing so, you undermine your image?

Please observe yourself.  Whenever you try to create an image or carry an armor to protect yourself from the people you interact with, you are not yourself at this moment.  You basically close the door on people. You let the ego interfere with the present moment.  Whenever you pretend, defend or project, true communication and connection with your Self is lost. Exposing your vulnerability requires the courage to face the fear deep inside. It is hard to do, but there is lots to gain in the process.

Sure, exposing your vulnerability to others is hard to do in the beginning. Maybe you can at least try to be honest with yourself and try admitting your true desires and needs to yourself. And when you reach that stage of honesty, take baby-steps towards others.
Open up to your friends and family and voice your needs and concerns. See for yourself how the Tao rushes to your side as you open up. Soon you will have the confidence to reach out to a broader set of people as well as be willing to explore more sensitive subjects. The way of the Tao is really that, the understanding that you and the person you meet today  are one. Dare to stop pretending, defending and projecting and you will see this spiritual truth right in front of you. With that understanding there is little to fear and so much to explore and discover. Have fun along the Tao - a magical world is waiting for you.
