It is always Darkest before the Dawn

There is duality in everything: success and failure, joy and misery, love and hate; everything swings from one extreme to the other. Take weather and light as on example. If you live away from the aquator you see darkness descending at a time when it is still warm, while light is already returning when it is really cold. Then just when you have given up on spring ever returning it gets surprisingly warm.

We all experience duality and we get caught in it. But you have a choice. You can recognize the yin and yang at play; see through the temporary nature of the pendulum. How hard is this to figure out that during the snowstorm you look forward to the summer, but once summer is here you will start complaining about the heat. Or when we live in the suburbs we miss the city life, but once we move to the city we miss the quiet life. The grass is always greener on the other side, so be content with what comes your way here and now.

Take one look around, pick up a souvenir or take a picture with someone nearby. This is it! Chances are when you look back in seven years from now you will figure that these were the happy days. They are! Let the yin and yang of life swing by. You are either happy now or you never will. Take a step back; chances are you are happy, you may just have to remind yourself of the bigger picture.
