Writing the Story of My Life

We spiritual travelers are on a journey to a new place. We think that we are in control yet a higher authority is. How exactly do we pick our soul partners? When are we dumped by our significant other, when do we let go of a lover? How do we choose our field of study or our work? Why do we work as hard as we do, and when do we quit? Where are our illnesses coming from?

There is no question that evolutionary biology has shaped us just as we have to accept that we are conditioned by our parents and the people we hang out with. The identity that we call the "I" is in charge and makes all the conscious choices. Yet behind all that there is a Force active that calls all the shots. It conveniently pushes our buttons to guide us in the direction that is spiritually meaningful. Our soul demands a script that was probably written well before we were born. The story of our life has been a subconscious one up to this point; today is a good day to wake up and make it a conscious journey instead.

Believe it or not, you can override your genes. It is also entirely up to you which symbols you operate with in your day to day activities. As you change some people and events will leave the scene, while for others you just reinterpret what exactly they stand for. That's what a spiritual path is all about. The Teacher you always have at your disposal is the kindest, most fun, most loving, most eloquent and most patient one out there. Learn to step outside yourself and you can see Her handwriting everywhere. At work you suddenly see love, collaboration, creativity and purpose where you saw competition and aggression before. Within yourself you experience peace where you felt restlessness before. Out of a sudden the Story of Your Life becomes visible and  actually living it is a fun-filled stroll in the park. Get your pen out today and start writing.
