When Two Paths Become One

There are two ways of doing things, you can be in tune with the Tao and effectively become Her instrument, or you can run after your ego's agenda. When you are in accordance with the Way, everything becomes effortless and you actually recharge yourself with all these activities. This is very much like a small breeze joining a strong hurricane, or a drop of water joining the ocean.  You are now much stronger and fierce, yet it is not about you. This Force flows through you.

Certainly, when you run after the demands of the "I", you will feel exhilarated and exuberant, but you will also at some point feel alienated, restless and anxious. Up and down the circle of life goes. You feel like you are bumped around by apparently random forces. Following the cravings of the "I" you will never really feel grounded; a drop of water that can evaporate easily.

Daily encounters with Tao give you the opportunity to reconnect with the Source. It gives you  direction, serenity and energy.  It is like you recharge yourself while being active just as others recharge themselves when they are asleep.you are sleeping. Just image, how energetic you will be when you recharged yourself day and night!

Everyone of us experience both states, the ego and the spirit. That's ok. It is only with the help of the ego, the struggling, the suffering, alienation, and separation, that we we often realize that we are not that “I”, we are not separated from anyone else. Sadhguru once remarked that you shouldn't mind a little bad karma. You need these occasional wake-up calls to remind ourselves of our spiritual mission and help you not to get too complacent.

Walking the Way is like a magic handwriting next to everything. You just realize the divine plan as it unfolds and even though you hear the "I" babbling at times, you still do what the situation demands. Without fail you realize that all parties benefit when you are in tune with the Tao. Walking the Way you realize that all the authentic  longings of the "I" like meaningful work, security, health, friendship, love, joy and peace you already have. Sure, the desire to be special also pops up, but again and again we are reminded and taught that this only brings separation, disease and unhappiness. Life is an ongoing reminder of your authentic needs. It unfolds so intensely that the cries of the "I" are often drowned out.

The Way tailors life exactly according to your personality traits and desires. Show up moment by moment and you get what you truly want. The longer you have walked the Way the more harmonious the journey becomes. Even if we tried we couldn't block Her out anymore. The psychologist C. G. Jung once said that synchronicity stopped showing up in his life after he stopped looking for it. We are not sure about that. His experience may just reflect the fact that he in the end he wasn't 100 percent committed to be in touch with his mystical side. Once She has gotten a hold of you there is simply no turning back.

Don't worry if you still only see occasional glimpses of the Way. Right now you are simply enjoying both worlds but before you know it apparent cross-roads will no longer be confusing to you. The two paths become one and the perspective of the "I" will soon only see the Way.
