The mind is just like a filter, an agent sorting through what we potentially could be aware of and what we allow our conscious mind to focus on at that moment. It served us well in the millions of years of evolution, allowing us to react intelligently to the dangerous presence of the saber-toothed tiger a little faster than the beast nearby, or plotting the attack strategy to protect us from the hostile clan coming our way. Life can be brutal as we all know, and our powerful mind propelled humanity on the top of the food chain. Enough is enough though, we have reached the next stage in human evolution. It’s time to return to the Garden of Eden and our powerful mind is sadly in the Way. Spirituality is about being aware of life as is, not about filtering it out. Life has an energy to it, and it is our mission to be aware of this energy and following it without having any opinion on it. In a spiritual experience, the mind is literally at a standstill.
The story of Adam and Eve is the greatest story ever told. The Hebrews must have been very wise for they nailed our lost God Connection two-fold with one simple world—‘knowledge’. When humanity ate the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge we severed the God Connection by developing our modern mind as well as having offsprings. Sex and mind are both embedded in the word ‘knowledge’. I have already explained how the mind separates us from life as is, but sex is the other way how the Connection can get lost. The sexual act and conception of a new life binds us into the spiritual beings into the matrix of make-believe. Energy-wise, we lose that kundalini energy movement connecting our root chakra with our crown chakra during the sexual act. Mentally, we are suddenly committed to our earthly experience by conceiving a child. As the Bible says, you shall die when you eat the fruit in the middle of the garden!
The enlightened folks tells us that this world we perceive is not real. We are kundalini energy flowing up and down our spine; on the day of our departure of the blue planet we merely transition into a different realm. It turns out that conceiving parents literally die during the sexual act and pass earthly life on to the next generation. It is hard for either generation to break free. So how to return to the Garden? Well, just because we fell into a hole one way doesn’t mean that we have to climb out of it the way we came from. Some enlightened folks advise sexual abstinence, but based on the historic description of Buddha and Yoshua, it seems pretty likely that they had sexual intercourse as well. The insight here is more that the kundalini energy rising is sacred and should not be wasted with meaningless sex. Many spiritual folks also tell us that the mind interferes with our path. I would argue it was designed to appreciate God’s Mind.
We have come far since the olden days. Adam has Eve to guide him Home, just as Eve has Adam to lean on. Gone are the days when the spiritual giants Siddhartha and Yoshua had to do the heavy lifting all by themselves. It’s a mutual Home-coming journey these days. Just keep walking, your loved ones will guide you. Having sex is not in the Way as long as we are mindful of the kundalini energy running through us. Life is here to guide us every step of the Way. It is our spiritual calling to interact with life rather than trying it to forge it according to our will, fears and cravings. In today’s enlightenment period monks can transcend to the next spiritual dimension as well as householders. Philosophers will find an open door to the Garden as long as they discover that all their wisdom can be found in their heart; the mind is merely a facilitator explaining to us what the heart already knows. It has been a long journey, from here on it’s downhill.
