The Path of Oneness

A sage was asked about the Kingdom of God. He replied,

"There were six men:

- The first man helped the poor in order to enhance his public image.

- The second man helped the poor because he thought it was his moral duty.

- The third man helped the poor because a sacred book commanded it.

- The fourth man helped the poor because it made him feel good.

-The fifth man help the poor because he wanted to do unto others as he would want done to him.

- The sixth man however, never thought about the poor as a class of people, never thought about moral obligations, and never thought about himself. When he heard about a family that couldn't pay some bills, he sent them an anonymous letter with cash which said, this money belongs to you. He kept no record of the transaction, never told anyone about it, never tried to claim a tax deduction, and afterwards never thought about it again."

(A Path to Christ Consciousness by Robert Harwood)

I love the little story; all men practice the path of Oneness but it is only the 6th man who is fully part of it.
