Spirituality 1.0 is the drive to be spiritual. We are concerned about others and sensitive to the needs of others. We embark on a quest to make this world a better place. The golden rule is a prime example, “Do unto others as you would them have do unto you.”
Spirituality 2.0 is the realization that no matter how noble our spiritual goals might be, unless we start awaken to pure being—no self—there will always be mischief in whatever we do. With an illusionary self to work with, there will always be sand in the works.
The quest for the “no self” might appear opaque, but there is a very simple starting point, inner conflicts. In fact, by facing what clashes inside we align spirituality 1.0 and 2.0. Clearly, if we get the sand out of the works the results will benefit, while we are also happier.
Matthew 6:33 states, “Seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” That’s it really. Conflict-free living and all the manifestations naturally arise. “Get your self out of the Way”, is a more modern restatement of Matthew 6:33.
What inner conflicts are you still struggling with? How can they be resolved? Do you spot the me at the center of the conflict?
