Free from desire,
you realize the mystery.
Caught in desire,
you only see the manifestations.
Yet mystery and manifestations
arise from the same Source.
Tao Te Ching
Everyone has a glimpse at the Light. It’s just that some live in sunny southern California and others in cloud-covered Cleveland, Ohio—metaphorically speaking of course.
There are times when the body-mind-world matrix keeps a grip on us, or rather, what we identify with clings to the external, and there are times when we are free as birds and are part of the mystery at play.
How can we move south to be surrounded by the Light? Are there methods to break free from the body-mind-world identification? Just personally, I have become much better at embracing life as it comes—life sets us free.
I saw this little Rilke quote this morning and it spoke to me. “Why would you want want to exclude from your life! Any uneasiness, any pain, any depression,
since you don't know what work they are accomplishing within you.”
The Tao Te Ching reminds that whether we are part of the mystery or part of the manifestations, a higher dimension of being pulls the strings either way, so the outcome is always as fated; it’s just a question of enjoying the ride.
Would you care to share your secret sauce with us?
