Everyone wants something, and everyone wants power in one form or another. Yes, the desire for peace is also there, but only after one has been beaten up by the forces that we set in motion when we want to get what we want. Most of us couldn't really enjoy stillness, as we would become restless very fast. "Be still and know God", the bible says, but who can really be still?
Peace and power are the same thing. When your drive to be something or to become something ceases, you actually have the necessary attention span to observe what the Tao encourages you to do moment by moment. If you are driven to get something or to become something, you will miss Its subtle clues. The ego always talks first and the Holy Spirit second, Jesus says in A Course in Miracles. The Voice for God is always quite, because it speaks for peace.
Peace is power. Have you ever observed how effortless everything becomes when you are in the flow? You think of a friend and the phone is ringing, and she is on the other line. You think about the research project and the article with the data you need arrives in your inbox. You fill in the blanks. You manifest by thinking; no, more than that, you manifest by being. Peace is power, but to get there you have to be still.
