What is a Spiritual Path?

I  have posed this question to fellow travelers and the respond I often got was that they feel that they are, though it took them a while to understand that they were. In my case, I can vaguely say that my path coincided with my desire to write things down. It was three years ago when I started my blog.

I am re-reading "A Course in Miracles" these days and observed that it often talks about pain thresholds and how they drop the further you venture on your path. This sounds true. All the pain that I experience is now internalized, I no longer project anything to others. The pain becomes much more intense this way, and you obviously have more of a desire to avoid it.

Do you know the feeling of spring cleaning? Just when you energetically cleaned one area, it becomes apparent to you that another layer of dirt is hiding beneath it. You just had never noticed it before, but now that it is out in the open, you might as well clean it too. A spiritual path is an ongoing repositioning. The good news is that while the journey may have started as an attempt to avoid pain, it will fast transition into a hunger for love, joy and miracles.

A spiritual path is one where there is no turning back. You hear the fire of the burning bridges and you still perceive traces of the smoke, but you don't even turn back to look because the sight of your destination is breath-taking and you know that the previous steps you have taken on your path will soon be faint memory.
