Obliquity

John Kay presented a nice observation in his recent book Obliquity, namely that big projects can often best be accomplished in a round-about fashion. Man is mad if he thinks that he can figure out all the complexities of the Tao in his head. No, to get anywhere we have to be willing to dance a little with the System that happens to be a ton smarter than we happen to be.

I had to google the word obliquity when I first saw it, but this concept makes a lot of sense to me; in fact, I would even say that I live my life in accordance with this principle. Let me put a  spiritual spin on it. You have the right to envision your dreams and to build your career, family and everything else that is meaningful to you. You will get what you desire eventually, but allow the Tao to implement it for you, even if you face a few round-about ways, problems and delays. Life offers you to work off your karma, your drives and allows you to heal yourself moment by moment.

Keep at it my friend, you will get what your heart desires, you are God's co-creator after all, but understand that there is a Force that looks out for you and if you happen to follow its clues, you will find your way out of the maize. Obliquity is perhaps a new spin on the old saying 'mysterious are the ways of the Lord'.
