Letting Go of the Blanket
The spiritual books tend to tell you that you do not need to suffer, but that you deserve to be happy, peaceful and full of bliss instead. And while this is all true, in my experience some feeling of discomfort and fear along the way are part of the journey too. We are born with a personality and are further molded by our family and our social interactions. The spiritual hypothesis is that deep down inside there is an eternal core that you will experience once you remove your acquired personality layer by layer. Life, the Tao, does that for you by presenting you with learning opportunities that remove your personality blanket in the process. Yes, there can be some fear occasionally and there can be some discomfort, but there is also peace of mind. One day you have figured out in the process that every day is a new day and that every thunderstorm is followed by a beautiful rainbow. I know that it feels cozy to hide under the blanket on a frosty morning, but why don't you get up and see what the day has to offer.
