Working the Daily Miracle

When you are at work and you see the endless worries of people, the frustrations and the ambitions, you cannot help getting a little concerned. Yet when I reflect on my 17 year career at the company I am working for, I cannot help concluding that most of the time things kind of work out despite all these struggles of all the people involved. It almost  seems to be that in every human interaction, most of the time, we tend to do what is best for everyone despite ourselves. Unfortunately, I have also seen times when very wrong choices were made and you really heard the angels cry in the background over the outcome. But then, on these occasions you also had some stepping up as a consequence deciding that there must be a different way, and consequently put the organizational changes in place to make sure that these mistakes will never happen again. When you are at work today, try to observe the holy space in between people. It exists, if you really look you will find it.
