The Hubris Syndrome

The Hubris Syndrome describes people in power who become obsessed with themselves. They believe they are invincible and they become self-righteous. Evidence to the contrary gets dismissed as they believe they are on a mission of God. How different the Tao traveler is instead. Every voice, every smile or frown and every symbol that comes her way gets embraced, contemplated and incorporated. The Tao traveler is decisive on occasions and hesitant on others, she compromises often but remains hard as steel when she receives the cue. Along the Tao you always know what to do, whereas in anticipation of an event you never know anything. Embrace the Tao now and avoid the Hubris Syndrome trap forever.
