The Buck Stops Here

The other day a colleague told me a story of how he and his wife watch football play-off games in separate rooms because he screams at the TV in high pressure situations and his wife minds that. I looked at him and said "but this doesn't sound like you at all" to which he responded that he picked that habit up from his dad. So I suggested that he should get a pressure ball or something else that he could use as a shock absorber and then just bite his tongue. After all, how nice would it be if his children didn't have to deal with the same issue in 20 years' time.

When you look at it objectively, our parents all gave us some homework to do. Think for a moment about the one thing your mom or dad didn't accomplish in their lives despite their best efforts. Chances are you are now working on it. Think of all the great assets your parents have given you, so perhaps you can make their journey whole by doing this one homework they left for you. As a matter of fact, if everyone accomplished this feat, our world would be a very different place.
