Living Moment By Moment

Things arise and she lets them come;
things disappear and she lets them go.
She has but doesn't possess,
acts but doesn't expect.
When her work is done she forgets it.
That's why it lasts forever.

(Tao Te Ching)

A Tao traveler is a person who is totally at peace with life.  She  doesn’t have an opinion about how life should be and accept it as it is.  She leads her life moment by moment without being attached to it.  She won’t define herself by any of these moments because she knows well that whatever happens now is going to change soon. She lets it happen.  Sure, she still experiences all kinds of emotions but takes them as they are and treats them equally.  These emotions flow through her just like cloud formations appear in the sky.  They move, change and disappear quickly.  She says yes to them all and experiences them consciously.

She loses her preference for events because she could no longer tell which one are good and which are bad. She can see the yin and yang in everything, every action, every situation, even in every emotion and thought. She leads a life without fear, with openness, completely relaxed about life's events. Externally, the master reacts to whatever comes along, and her mood can change in an instant. It seams hard to define who she really is. She seems to be an enigma.   Internally, she is always the same, purring like a cat. She is not concerned about her reputation, nor does she try to avoid any problem.  Life gets expressed through her moment by moment.
