Falling Down or Rising Up?

Sometimes you fall down,
because down there is something
you are supposed to find.

Some in the spiritual community may look down on finance arguing that money only begets greed. Yet, the people who live their greed may find something "down there" that their soul requires. You may look down on a womanizer, yet the lustful fellow may find something in the process, very much like the many women whose hearts he brakes may find something in their loss. "Victory" or "loss", who is to say what is what? The loss is often the beginning of the advance, very much as the victory is often the dawn of the decline. And "victory" from whose perspective? Yours, or your soul's?

Know what you want. If you want to find God, then so be it; just as is ok if you know that you want to run after money or sex. Decide on what you want and the Way will get you there. The hard and frustrating lessons only come if you are confused and conflicted about your goals, like the monk who runs away from his steamy sexual desires or the spiritual pacifist who is in fact running away from facing confrontations in real life. So find out what you are all about and go after it with determination. The Tao will get you wherever you desire, sometimes in the fall, and sometimes in the advance.
