Stop the Inner War

Have you ever observed a war inside yourself? You may feel sad or stressed and you don't like this feeling. Or you feel tired and try to compensate with coffee; or you feel wired at night and try to calm yourself with a drink or two. While trying to find a solution for what ails you is of course fine, but we think you can be so much more effective if you allow yourself to first experience your inner states without having opinions about them. Blocking feelings out or simply overriding them generates stiffness inside. Energy gets blocked that way and lingers below the surface until some event triggers it and brings it back to the surface.

Every time you have an opinion about a situation you are in, you already start a war inside. As you feel that something is up, take a break from whatever you are doing, be aware of the prevailing sentiment inside and just be one with it without having an opinion about your experience. You may still find resistance to going through this experience, which is ok too. Be one with your resistance as well and see where your experiment takes you.

You will find that your inner states change much faster once you are open to them. You will find that your inner states are as unpredictable as the weather, and very much like the weather, can't be influenced by you. Have you ever seen a storm system that just stays in one place? In the same way, as you open up to your in inner states they will simply flow by.

Be open to everything that comes your way, and be open to everything that happens inside. Experience for yourself the tremendous energy that will be at your disposal as you go with the internal as well as the external flow. Inner wars make as little sense as outer wars, yet as we are trying to minimize the outer wars, the pressure often rises within. Make peace with everyone including yourself. Become flexible and enjoy studying yourself!
