Will-Power versus Focus

Before Freud, will had a place in psychology equal to that of emotions and intellect. With Freud the will virtually disappears, swallowed up by the unconscious and biological determinism.
(E. James Lieberman, M.D., Acts of Will: The Life and Work of Otto Rank)

I am agnostic on the "will-power" theme. I have seen amazing fighters being worn down by years of going against the wind. But then, I have also seen a "Michael Jordanesque drive" in people, tearing down mountains under the onslaught of will. Focus might explain the different outcomes better. Go consistently against what your soul is longing for and will see your spirit wither, independent of what your will-power might be. In contrast, once you turn towards the WAY, divine ENERGY will carry you. All you have to do is to mind not stepping out of the flow. When emotions, intellect and life meet, the WAY will naturally keep you going. They say "will-power" is like a muscle, overuse will only give you muscle ache. If you feel strain, please take it easy and take a look around; one of HER messengers might be standing near-by to show you the WAY.
