Just see the idol for what it is

You will weep each time an idol falls. (A Course in Miracles)

I had a vision of sorts as I was falling asleep. I saw a man and a woman as a cloud formation. I saw her holding on to an object that on the first look appeared like his oversized manliness. It was apparent that they both felt super excited about over what she held in her hand. Yet, with this interpretation something didn't feel right. There was so much love and serenity in this picture that it suddenly hit me that she must be holding on to their baby instead, resting in his lap.

The phallus interpretation is the notion of an idol, isn't it? Sure, the phallus object can generate excitement but at the end of the day it is a dead object compared to the creative power of an offspring. The baby made this picture whole, not his oversized manliness. In life there is passion and there is enthusiasm; there is the thrill of a ride and the serenity of meaning. It is perfectly fine to enjoy the pleasures life has to offer. It is not fine to find the meaning of life in them.

We will weep each time an idol falls. And fall it will because it was never alive to start with.
