I am sitting at the pool and watch the boys play some water basketball game. The rules have been made up beforehand but get constantly revised as the score changes hands. There is so much laughter, screaming, crying, smirking and liveliness. The ego is apparently at play but so is happiness and summer bliss.
Why can’t we view all of life that way? The rise and fall of politics, stars, relationships, enterprises and sport teams—everything is just a game! Don’t take life so seriously, and never mind if our ego has a little fun. I hope the boys learn one day that cooperation is the way, not the silly mano-a-mano games. Having this insight is part of the game.
It’s only a game, yet, playing games is what life is all about. Everything we spiritual folks ever wanted to know can be found in the Bhagavad Gita. It’s dry knowledge though. We have to bring our subconscious along. When we are playfully engaged in our mission we put everything on the line. Go and play, the Blue Lord will be cheering you on.
