The Void

The void causes a longing, a craving;
a dissatisfaction and a meanness.
It’s an interference to bliss;
an engine on the road to nowhere.
It can seem like a descent to ‘hell’.

People call the void ‘ego’,
but that is misleading.
People call it a disease of the mind,
but our body and soul conspire as well.
Let’s call it a void, a nothing, a no-thing.

Who can say whether it’s a disease
of our body, mind or our soul;
it really doesn’t matter!
Look at the clouds moving with the wind,
do they define the blue sky beyond?
