Soul Connections

Ram Dass encouraged us to connect with each other on a soul level, and I have been wondering what he really means by that. After reading lots of posts of how people interact with their partner, friends, or parents, and of course, having my own fair share of experience on the subject, I suddenly realized what he wants us to do.

When we interact with our parents, friends, or our partner, we have lots of expectations about them. When they don’t meet our expectation, we often feel hurt, neglected, or not loved. The problem here is that we assume our significant others to be perfect, without any weakness or conditioning.

Truth of the matter is that all of us, especially after so many reincarnations, have our weakness and are conditioned by our past experiences. Somehow, more or less, we all a product of our past.  When we live in our past, it’s very difficult for us to respond to the truth of this moment.

The people we come across are here to help us uninstall these old programs and wounds. Their mission is to restore us to our original state. Our loved ones are here to help us expand our capacity and to develop our creativity. It’s almost like we all sign up for an obstacle race.  When we look at our partner this way, perhaps it will be easier for us to take them as they are.  Because their roles are here to help us expand and purify our soul!

And when we look at them with all their conditionings and weaknesses, we also know that they are souls who are stuck in their experiences and patterns. When we realize they as a human being, that they suffer and rejoice as we are, we suddenly have all the compassion and love towards them!  We suddenly can take them as they are!

We are stuck together with each other with that strong attraction because we are here together to accomplish this mission, to help each other grow and go home!  Yes, we are just here to walk each other home!
