We need to open our eyes
to see life itself as a gift,
and perceive the goodness
embedded everywhere.
Every day is a blessing.
(Derek Lin, The Tao of Joy Everyday)
Whenever we feel needy, our heart’s energy contracts, same for jealousy and fear. Whenever we are angry, depressed, unforgiving or lonely, our heart sinks as well. Unfortunately, that’s what life is all about. We shouldn’t fool ourselves into believing that we are full of Christian love when we are not.
When you truly observe life though, there are always little cues ready to lift our heart. The memory reminding us that we walked in our brother’s shoes. The new friend who lift us out of our loneliness, or the romantic dinner that will hopefully come with a tasty desert at the end of a lovely evening.
The Tao of Christ is a fancy world for the good old Holy Spirit connecting us with everyone. God looks out for our happiness but we have to do a little work ourselves. All we have to understand that sanity and bliss can be found in each other’s company. Enjoy the Tao of Christ!
