The question that has been on my mind for a while now, is there necessarily a psychological force that wants us to prevent from going Home. Does there have to be an inner battle of good and evil? The answer is, it depends! If you accept our human roots merely as a platform enabling us to gaze at the stars then this psychological identity maybe confused but not necessarily evil. Yet, if you appeal to YHWH to cut the human roots then there is bound to be an inner voice screaming murder.
The Tao Te Ching dissolves this duality elegantly. There is Heaven in earth it maintains just as there is earth in Heaven. Without trying to be anywhere but ‘here’ and ‘now’ we dissolve this conflict and are granted countless satori moments to glance at the stars. The ego—our cravings, fears and delusions—does come and go but it passes just like drifting clouds in the otherwise blue sky. There is no ego in YHWH but there is God in life.
