Just be

In the unenlightened, mind-identified condition, what is sometimes wrongly called joy is the usually short-lived pleasure side of the continuously alternating pain/pleasure cycle. Pleasure is always derived from something outside you, whereas joy arises from within.

What is often referred to as love may be pleasurable and exciting for a while, but
it is an addictive clinging, an extremely needy condition that can turn into its opposite at the flick of a switch. Real love doesn't make you suffer.
Eckhart Tolle

Why do we love sports so much? We are on the battle-field of emotions. We scream, cry, despair, hope and celebrate, all of this in just 90 minutes. When the match is over we either feel like the world has just ended, or we are on top of the world. Yet, 3 days later we only carry a distant memory. Otherwise, we move on with our life as if nothing had ever happened.

That’s the beauty of the Now. Let’s ‘just be’ and everything else, people and events will only temporarily affect us. They do not change anything of what we are all about. There is an underlying joy and love prevailing within us that cannot be altered no matter what life may throw at us. How can we access this state? Well, take a deep breath and take a good look around. Just be, how hard can it be?
