You need to calm down,
you are being too loud.
And I’m just like uh-oh,
you need to just stop, like
can you not step on my gown.
(Taylor Swift)
The friction we experience in life is always in proportion to our self-involvement. In a friction-less world, life flows right through us—our self is not getting in the Way. So when we observe friction, it is not so much about calming ourselves down, it is more about being mindful that we may be too loud, or worse, notice that we may have stepped on someone’s gown in our craving to get attention. Being mindful of the friction calms us naturally down. The frictionless state is our birthright.
