Sometimes when I see professional football players go at each other I don’t see history repeating itself, but it is definitely rhyming. Is it really that hard to imagine that the reincarnated souls of the Washington Redskins offense bang into the Dallas Cowboys defense were only 200 years ago fighting in actuality. Life has become easier for everyone. These days the victims get away with concussions and some broken bones and are also rewarded handsomely for their efforts.
I worked in a capitalistic business setting and I can tell you that the Great Awakening will not happen any time soon. Changing the system may once again improve conditions for everyone involved but the problem statement of human greed and cowardice will not change. Go to a socialistic country and work for a bureaucracy and you will find that folks will be out to fight for their turf and power there too. Humans will always be human unless and until the inner revolution has taken place. The number of folks signing up for this journey is probably rising but it will take a while before it reaches the masses, if ever.
Something is changing though. Your opportunity set to bring about change in the real world is going up. It has become cool to protect the environment and some of the same folks who destroyed it ruthlessly now think of ways to improve living conditions for everyone because their boss is telling them that that’s the fashionable thing to do. Companies are increasingly encouraged to watch out for stake-holders (employees, communities, under-privileged) as shareholders. ESG investing (environment, social and governance) is becoming fashionable. So where activists where running into concrete walls 20 years ago there are at least a few doors opening.
The Awakening wave that some foresee may catapult more enlightened folks into powerful positions. It does get better but there is no time to be complacent. The revolution always has to be within you otherwise the problem statement of encountering conflict within Oneness will never change.
