Think in terms of white light shining through a prism to reveal the full spectrum of color perceivable by the human eye: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Each of these colors is part of the original whole and cannot be separated from it— turn off the light source and the colors disappear. Now apply this metaphor to the world around and within you. Everything you see, think, feel, and imagine is a part of and never apart from the same Source.
Rami Shapiro, Perennial Wisdom for the Spiritually Independent
We are not our imaginary selves. That becomes apparent in deep meditation. There is no experienced, there is only serenity, love and freedom. Likewise as we face life, life is merely flowing through us. We are an avatar of sorts but in the holy Now there is a being, experiencer and experienced merge in the action of life. Still, we have chosen our avatar for a reason, like a prism the original whole flows through us a little differently than through the fellow next door. Some shine blue, others are red. We need your imaginary self fade into no-thingness to make the rainbow perfect.
