Authentic spiritual living

Should we mind a guru who has sex with his/her followers? Not necessarily. Some sign up for tantra and feel called to spread the light physically. However, if the guru has subscribed to sexual abstinence before then this is a problem of authentic living.

Should we mind a spiritual teacher who takes Spirit literally and has drinking orgies with his followers? Not necessarily, Gurdjieff used this technique to make his followers loosen up and get in touch with what is buried in their subconscious.

You see, kosher spiritual living is not the issue. The issue is that we have to be authentic. What we say, think and do has to line up. What’s so wrong with being as human as the fellow next door. It’s the aspiration to be someone we are not that’s not authentic.
