There are three spiritual gems that always bring tears to my eyes whenever I read them: A Course in Miracles, the Bhagavad Gita and the Tao Te Ching. All three are messages from the Beyond. All of them give us the tools to connect with our Self.
Christianity has chosen the symbol of the cross, and has made a religion out of Jesus. He was one of many; other giants have walked this earth, Lao-Tzu—the author of the Tao Te Ching—was another one, as was Buddha and Shankaracharva, the author of the Gita.
The symbol of the early Christians was the fish. Maybe as an invite to fish for new souls to embrace Jesus’ message; maybe to remind everyone of the Self’s abundance that always surrounds us, ready to catch just like the carpenter and fisherman Jesus did.
The letters C and M are my middle initials, short for Conscious Mind. There is a Voice to grasp, there is a Spirit messenger to perceive, and there is a Relationship to experience. The Beyond is always at our disposal, that’s what Gita, Tao and the Course refer to.
No religion is needed to stumble on the Conscious Mind. Devotion, strive and persistence are only needed to deal with the self-imposed ignorance, otherwise just open your eyes, your heart and be still. The magnificence of the Beyond—Conscious Mind—is here now.
