In ethics we try to determine ‘right’ from ‘wrong’ without believing in a God which is a messy intellectual exercise to say the least. In almost all religions we have the spiritual ‘right’ from ‘wrong,’ the ego in contrast to the Spirit world. It’s a start. For many Awakening begins when Spirit knocks on our door and we are encouraged to open up to an entirely different world. For a while we are caught in a twilight zone though.

‘Make right by God’ is the mandate our spiritual teachers have who are caught in duality. There is nothing wrong with this mandate; it’s just a lower plain of Consciousness. This world you see is a make-belief in a higher plane of Consciousness. Yet, as long as we are caught in this illusion we can use the quest for Spirit as a jumping board for breaking free. Passion, purpose and talents were given to us to assist us in leaving our self behind.

Eventually we all leave this dual world behind altogether. The world of no-self transcends this world of duality entirely. We are not even that smart, just simple-minded and loving. ‘Right or left’, the answer is downloaded straight into our brain from a higher Power. We participate in an energy dance. Life flows through us, just as light flows through a prism. Keep your idiosyncratic features but you are no longer the doer.
