quest for beyond Awakening
happiness quest 3D world
Many of you are familiar with Maslov’s hierarchy of needs. His observation was that modern societies start looking for meaning after they have satisfied the basis needs such as physiological and safety needs, love, belonging and self-esteem. Maslow calls the top of the hierarchy self-actualization, though it is a little vague what exactly that is.
Maybe that’s how the spiritual quest for many starts, an inner irritation and restlessness and the feeling that there must be more to life than just stuff, sex and fame. In my observation anyone who starts asking questions gets answers, and that’s when the new world opens up. Awakening is a twilight zone of sorts, we are part of two worlds.
The state of ‘no-self’ comes one day, it’s a realization. We all experience this stage. It’s natural in fact, but in the self-centered world it is not recognized as such. Anytime we truly love someone we are in a no self state, or each time something takes our breath away. The ‘no self’ world starts once we are able to spot our self in action.
You will know when you are on an Awakening course just as a pregnant woman will one day feel the new life in her. Awakening is a twilight zone of sorts but it is supposed to be a pleasurable experience. A time of laughter, of letting go, of playing with a new-found world. Don’t hunt for enlightenment, let it come to you instead.
