There is so much conspiracy talk these days and so much politics hatred. It even seems to me that some of our spiritual teachers have become more defiant. Maybe this is the time to change politics and the working of our society. Maybe this is the time for some of our spiritual friends to ascend to the next level of Consciousness. Yet, instead of becoming more determined about anything, I want to encourage you to do the opposite, slip out of the role your self invites you to play. Leave the self behind here and now.
I want to alert you to one simple insight that became only obvious to me this year. It’s so simple, you will laugh. Yet, the insight is powerful, we can slip out of our self in good times as in bad. This becomes especially apparent in volatile periods as these. In times when our passions flare up and the strife is strong, that’s when we can experience the ‘self machinery’ at work and step out of it. Consider these statements:
The depression ate ‘him’ alive.
‘He’ was melting in her arms.
‘He’ had a panic attack.
The moment took ‘his breath’ away.
Do you see? Depression as well as love does it. Anxiety can invite the ‘out-of-self’ as well as the magnificence of the satori moment. At any given moment we can ask, ‘who is afraid?’ or ‘who is in love?’ Use this crazy time to make the jump into a new dimension of Consciousness. Let go of your self!
