When extroverts go to a party they cannot wait to meet every guest, often, because they cannot wait to tell their own story again and again. When introverts go to a party, if they go at all, they will sit in a corner with a glass of wine talking to the folks they always talk to anyhow.
Almost everyone is possessed by an energy that is hard to be aware of even harder to break free from. Some play the role of the teacher or leader, others the learner or follower. Actions may vary dependent on the situation; the nature of the energy possessing the person stays the same.
I had the benefit of having conflicted energies running through me, aggressive and docile, introverted and extroverted, trusting and manipulative, etc., which forced me one day to ask, ‘who am I exactly?’ That’s when the observer kicked in who was aware of the expressed energies at play, just as an actor in a play.
Don’t mistake authenticity with always doing what feels right. The spiritual notion of authenticity is that life flows though us. We are. Sometimes we crawl upstream, sometimes we float downstream, but always we are. Enlightenment is awakening to ‘no self.’ There is no self to speak off. The energy running through us is life, not our own.
