You are caught in a deep depression. Maybe your beloved has dumped you. Maybe you realize that your career is over, or maybe you just happen to be tired with life. And there, in that depth of depression you realize, ‘hey, that blue energy running through me is not really me. It exists. I can not deny it, but when the going gets tough, I somehow have the ability to slip out of it into something else entirely.
Sounds familiar? You can turn that experience around. We can also step out of our self when the going it’s supposedly good. The American Pro Golfer David Duval had a break-down day after finally winning the prestigious British Open Championship. “What, it that all; is that all I have been working for?’ went through his head when he was back in his hotel room after the win. Something inside cracked open.
“Know what your duty is
and do it without hesitation.
For a warrior, there is nothing better
than a battle that duty enjoins.”
the Bhagavad Gita says. We have to face the battle of life; we have to face life’s ups and downs. Win or loss doesn’t really matter in our mission. What matters is stumbling on the essence behind this bubble we call self. Everything is meant to be broken eventually. The goal of spiritual living is popping the bubble before we go for good. It can be done once you become aware of the cycle of pleasure and pain.
Pop the bubble of self. Today is as good as any.
