The Magic of the Morning Hour

Two AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, its no longer
inside of me, threatening the life it belongs to.
Anna Nalick, Breathe (2 AM)

As a writer I feel like a fisherman sometimes; they also get up before dawn to get the big catch. I don’t know whether you have realized but we get cosmic downloads in the morning hours. As a spiritual writer, all I have to go is to sit there in the early morning hours, open up to them and share my catch of the day with others. Sometimes I even have time to return to sleep before the house wakes up.

The theme of the note depends on the hour though. Two am is tough. That’s still when the dark corner of the self is making its presence felt. I was destructive during these hours when my Awakening kicked in years ago. Now I just sit there and let the emotions run through me and the insights follow. In contrast, when I wake up at 4 am, my notes tend to be on the lighter side; 3 am downloads are always meaningful, one way or the other.

It’s true when they say that we are not our mind, not our ego. Yet, we are human just like everyone else. There is a time to be upbeat and a time to be sad. There are also countless opportunities to be connected with what lies beyond. Open up to the stillness of the morning when you have the chance. When it comes to spirituality, the early bird definitely gets the big catch. Enjoy!
