It is not
about our
circumstances
but about our
responses
to them.
(David Wellens, Responses)
It occurred to me the other day that spiritual living is as much about life as it is about death. When the sages say that we can die to the moment it really means two things, the joy of being part of Oneness, as well as experiencing the death of our self. Sometimes those two go together but sometimes we first have to let go of the old before we can enjoy the magnificence of the Now. Spiritual living is not about running after serenity and bliss, it is about catching the Now in life’s pleasure and pain.
