If snakes could talk, I would ask them if shedding an outgrown skin hurts. Likewise, consider the little cuts we have to endure daily—when we are mean to each other, when we hate the work we have to do, the painful labor of fulfilling our mission, when we are unhappy in love, etc.—as the opportunity to awaken to our skin called self.
Being free of our self is our natural state. Yet, the psychological ‘I’ engulfs us and we take this bondage for granted. Every living moment is an invite to be free. To float in the Flow of being, and to be mindful when our conditioning is holding us hostage yet again. Viewed from this perspective, shouldn’t we be grateful for everything life throws at us?
