Love

 The consciousness in you and the consciousness in me, apparently two, really one, seek unity and that is love.

Have you had a taste of heart-centered energy, completely outside of conditioning and the mind? I got a glimpse of unconditional love when our boys were born. Though both are completely different, it is an impossibility to prefer one over the other. Love is completely unconditional. Romantic love is an equally strong energy link, but there is still a little subconscious possessiveness to make that what we admire in our partner our own. There is still a little projecting with rose-colored glasses when we fall in love with the significant other. 

 

Love is an energy connection, an entanglement with what we care for. Love guides us on our self-discovery and self-transformation quest, until we either lose interest or break through to unconditional love. See your children grow to become parents themselves, spend a lifetime with a partner, or see your mission through until it develops a life on its own. Importantly though, there is no need to wait years, the opportunity is here now to observe the clinging, projection or repression that we thought to be love. Every moment we have the chance to capture that essence in our partner that is timeless.

 

The opportunity for love is everywhere. I had a break-through moment at work when I sat opposite to a friend who I once perceived as an adversary. After fighting him for years, and then signing up with him  for the same mission as well, I one fine day looked at him and realized that I was him. What a revelation! Oneness and unconditional love is everywhere, we just have to recognize it. Nisargadatta’s definition is brilliant, love is Consciousness in you and me.
