Perfection and no-thingness

 The chief monk wrote

the following poem

for all to study at night

“The body is a Bodhi-tree

The soul a shining mirror:

Polish it with study or

dust will dull the image. “

No other monk could

improve upon the

chief monks poem

But at twilight, an

Unknown Wandering

kitchen monk passed

through the hall

Where the Chief monks

poem was displayed...

Not thinking about it

But rather flowing with

the poem, arising within

his Being from Source

He picked up a nearby brush

and below the other poem,

crafted this response ...

“ Bodhi is not a tree;

There is no shining mirror.

Since All begins with Nothing

Where can dust collect? “

The Chief monk and all

the other monks upon

seeing this were all

instantly enlightened

No one knew who the

Unknown Wandering

monk was or where

he even came from

Nor even noticed, his

“traceless tracks”

As he quietly walked

away, into the forest, in

the misty morning rain ~

Polishing and studying is spirituality 1.0.

Everything starts with the intention to be free.

Recognizing no-thingness and perfection

is spirituality 2.0–the wanderer comes when she does!
