The fruit drops when it is ripe

 There can be progress in the preparation. Realization is sudden. The fruit ripens slowly, but falls suddenly and without return.

So what exactly is that preparation Nisargadatta mentions? For me it’s grasping the workings of our mind, our belief system and the energy links we are embedded in. When we realize who we are on the deepest level as well as understanding the energies that propel us and the people we dance with, we are quite close to the realization Nisargadatta talks about.

 

We can be spiritual in the busyness of life, just as we can have deep realizations when we are in solitude. In fact, every moment is an invite for the fruit to drop.
