The question is not what to do; the question is how to see. The question is not of changing your character, the question is not to become more good, to become more saintly, to be less a sinner – no, that is not the question. The question is: how to see without mind, how to see without choice. The question is not concerned with doing and action, the question is concerned with the quality of awareness. Osho
Self-inquiry and the philosophy of non-duality is meaningless unless the practice is associated with a feeling. A student once went to Ramana Maharshi and complained that he seemed to be stagnating in his spiritual progress. Ramana Maharshi smiled and asked, ‘to whom does this concern occur?’ This statement went like a lightening bolt through the student’s existence and he felt the separation of ego-mind from his true nature at this instant.
I have been writing for a good decade now and never managed to give an tutorial how to advance to that level. Thinking and writing about non-duality is no good, you have to see it with your eyes, unaffected by our conditioning of mind and our agenda. You have to experience this Oneness in the beauty and busyness of life, and know It in the stillness of your being. Life is full of these lightening bolts. Awareness knows how to get ‘your’ attention and drop ‘you’ by the Way-side.
