Student: I discovered that I have hostility toward others. Is it ok as long as I don’t take action?
Suzhen Liu: Yes, it’s part of it. But this is not pure observation yet. We face problems for a good reason. It’s not an isolated event. We have hostility toward others, and on the surface it’s toward others, but there must be some part of us that feels unfairly treated and hasn't been healed yet. For example, you said you will force yourself, but there must be something you are not willing to do, that's why you need to force yourself.
You have hostility inside. There must be an unhealed injury or the feeling of being unfairly treated. So you have to let this pain body rise to the surface and see it. This seeing is healing. We are used to looking for answers from the external world, now we have turn inward and be mindful. That’s healing the root cause for good.
