A paradoxical quest

 We will all make

the journey

from s e l f ish

to s e l f less

to S E L F FULL .

(David Wellens, Journey)

When we are selfish

we can ask why,

and examine what happens

as we drop our agenda.

When we are self-less,

we can ask, “who is?”,

and double-check if we

don’t fall victim to our Christian super ego.

When we are SELF-full,

there is nothing to ask,

and nothing to be mindful of.

S (erenity) E (nergy) L (ove) F (low) prevail.

The mind may perceive life as a quest.

The heart may hope for better times ahead,

But truth of the matter is,

SELF is always here and now.

This is the paradox,

dropping our self identification

is impossible—yet, when it comes to God,

nothing really is.

This is the paradox,

being full of

S (erenity), E (nergy), L (ove), F (low)

is both a quest and an act of Grace.
