I have friends who perceive fairies in the forest. One friend finds spiritual messages in Swedish cloud formations. I myself got a divine vision on the eve of my birthday in form of a Leo. I took a picture and moments later it was gone with the wind. Spirit is shy that way and doesn’t want to interfere with our free-will of seeing what we believe in. The 7th century monk Shankara maintained that the world is a rope on a ground that we mistake for a snake. Spirituality is the ability to read the energies as they are, not as our conditioned self-identity wants or fears them to be.
Open up to the world’s spiritual messages and images. You can find them everywhere. Discover that this world is magical and non-threatening once we ride the prevailing divine energies. Yet, remember that the institution that looks for God’s manifestations is the one who keeps you from God’s mysteries. The Tao Te Ching reminds, “Free from desire you realize the mystery, caught in desire, you see only manifestations.” With the creative eye of an artist, the heart of a lover and an open serene mind, Spirit will be sure to make Her Presence known.
