Spiritual Evolution—The C-A-R Model

I concluded my first book, ‘The Magnificent Experiment’ with a quote from Miley Cyrus’ ‘The Climb’. That’s what advancing spiritually felt like to me in those days. I wouldn’t do that today, as I realize that Grace is with us all the time. Grace is associated with being, but sometimes even the best of us have to do in order to attain what we set our mind on to. Climbing is part of the journey just as the downhill slide or the rest period. Being or doing, Grace is always present, it’s just in doing we have to be present to spot Grace.

Many of us have a little work to do to create our niche of heaven on earth. The purpose of the resistance that we face is an invite to get our self out of the Way. The C-A-R model is what I would teach our boys if they asked me what the road to meaning looks like:

C limb                         You have to work hard to create your niche.

A djust            Learn from success and failure; adjust all the time.

R ecover        Failure is part of success; pick yourself up and try again.
