Awakening is reprogramming

 Spiritual writings appeal to our conscious understanding, but we operate from the subconscious instead. The appeal of all spiritual teachers is the teaching on the surface, but it is really their appeal to our subconscious that brings about change. Someone once said that he went to all J. Krishnamurti meetings and didn’t listen to a single world. He just wanted to hear his voice and be part of his vibrations. Your intellect may shake its head in response, but that doesn’t matter much. Awakening is all about opening the heart chakra instead, and this committed, highly ethical teacher could bring this transformation about. This ignorant JK spectator may just have been smarter than the rest!

 

I must have been one of the hardest working persons in the world. I remember the joy when I started working in the financial industry after finishing graduate school. I took the entire Sunday off! Mind you, I was still working Saturdays, but Sundays I now spent just to have fun. What a concept! I never granted myself that luxury in graduate school. I had all kind of romantic reasons why I was working so hard—advancement of knowledge, building a new existence on a foreign country for me and my wife, but the true reason was a hunger for recognition. It was a drive for power, not romanticism as I thought. What an eye opener Awakening brought about when I discovered this trait in me!

 

Awakening cannot be a conscious quest as we make it to be, it is a reprogramming instead. Programs that have been running humanity for millennia are being shed, while our essence starts shining through. Everything that happens to us—events, people we attract, work, family we are born into, the partner we subconsciously choose—is designed to bring about that transformation. Ram Dass nailed the Awakening quest when he concluded that we are walking each other Home. The subconscious is that by definition it is outside of our grasp, but we can be mindful of what actions we take, observe, and put 1 and 1 together. Our essence is Stillness, Energy, Love, Flow (SELF), everything else noise.
