Tangential

You go into the attic of a house that you just purchased and you find an old vessel in it. You rub it a little to see if it still can be used and suddenly a genie appears offering you 3 wishes. You ponder for a moment and come up with:

1 enlightenment

2 power ball winner

3 a lover (or if you already have one, be 10 years younger)

But then you stop in the tracks and say “wait”. It occurs to you that the entity wishing for enlightenment in fact stays in the way of enjoying it. You also realize that you already have everything you ever wanted and that you are loved (or have the perfect age).

I titled this post tangential because like a dog charging ahead to fetch the master’s ball, what we consider our self drools according to its conditioning. Yet, if we stop and see the train of thought or rush of emotions for what they are, everything changes.

We sit at the center, while the wheel of life spins as it does and every thought-feeling energy that gets triggered by it is—well—tangential. Accurate in the here and now but a false approximation of life as is when it gets extrapolated. Only peace and love prevail.
